Personal Relationships – pt 2

Focus on first knowing you are complete in God

John 15:12-17 (ESV)

12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.

My God,

You are my Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, and Friend.

You give comfort to those who are grieving, peace to those who are restless, defense to the helpless and liberation to those who are in chains.

Your greatness is visible throughout the entire world. When I look into the sky I marvel at the wonders of your work.

You are love and have chosen to love me despite all the things I have said, done, and thought that contradict the meaning of Your love.

In you I have everything I need for today, and without you I am lost and confused.
Help me to receive, comprehend, absorb, and appreciate your love.

May others see and feel your love through my interactions with them. Give me the words to say, the silence to keep, and the presence that compels others to You.

Do a work in me so that Your work allows my body, mind, and spirit to display love to You and all of humanity.

I lift up relationships that I am grateful for having in my life (Name people you are thankful for). Thank you Lord for placing these angels to surround me at the appointed seasons of need.

I now lift up the relationships that are in discord, pain or disrepair (Name relationships that are presently strained). I pray for resolution, unity, and peace.

Help me, God, to see my interactions with others as a part of my worship unto you. Help me to find paths of forgiveness and to allow Your love’s power to prevail. Give me the strength to face my emotions and to place You at the center of it all.

I give you all the honor, glory, and praise. In Jesus’s name, amen.
